Caitlyn Davis

Caitlyn Davis recently earned her Associates Degree in the Liberal Arts from Cottey College. She currently is continuing her studies at Bennington College. Her academic focus is on exploring the role of education in the alleviation of poverty in the United States and Central America.

This focus stems from her experiences growing up in a family of six adopted girls from the United States and Guatemala. Her parent's values of using one's resources (body, mind, soul, money, etc) to improve the lives of others were not lost on her. Growing up these values were expressed through a plethora of service opportunities in service to both the local and global communities.

Throughout her two years in college, she has worked to raise money to support the education of girls through a scholarship program in San Lucas, Guatemala. She also has experience leading afterschool programs reaching low-income or otherwise "at risk" children and adolescents in the United States. Caitlyn is hopeful that this new initiative will mirror the success of other similar projects in reaching the girls of rural Guatemala.
